A translator from Czech and French, she has been a member of the Polish Literary Translators Association since 2013. She also holds a PhD in Humanities and is a graduate of Polish studies, with a major in journalism, from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Her research interests include literary cubism and a comparison of the Polish, Czech and French early avant-garde in literature and art. She translates prose, poetry, drama, scientific and popular science texts, comics, and others, and is the winner of numerous translation competitions (2003, 2005, 2013, 2014). She is also involved in book editing - as an editor she has worked with Pasaże publishing house, Poznań publishing house, Natuli publishing house, the Jewish Historical Institute, and many others. She has also done postgraduate studies in art history and is involved in the curatorial preparation of exhibitions. Her texts have been published in Czas Kultury, Muzyka w Mieście, Porówania, and Slavia Occidentalis. Since 2009, she has cooperated with the Cinema at the Border (Cieszyn/ Český Těšín) Film Festival as an audiovisual translator. She is also a photographer and a passionate of traditional photography on black and white light-sensitive materials. She has presented her works at exhibitions in Poland and abroad, and has pursued her photographic work with a grant from the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship for cultural creators. In 2013, she was awarded a distinction in the Polak-emigrant Photographic Competition organised by the Senate of the Republic of Poland and the Centre for Migration Research at the University of Warsaw. She comes from Chojnice in the Kashubia region. For many years she lived in cities starting with the letter ‘P’: Poznań, Prague and Paris. Now, she has made an exception and settled in Gdansk Wrzeszcz for she truly loves the sea.
