Kotyńska
Translator of Ukrainian literature since 1998. She was a student of the Ukrainian studies, literary and cultural scholar. She works at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences and had lectured at the Department of Ukrainian Studies of the Jagiellonian University (2009-2015). Finalist of the first edition of the Drahoman Prize (2020) – a prize for translators of Ukrainian literature, awarded by the Ukrainian PEN Club and the Ukrainian Institute and the Ukr.ainian Book Institute. Winner of the ANGELUS Award - the Angelus Central European Literature Award for the translation of Oksana Zabużko’s Muzeum porzuconych sekretów, a novel which was also awarded by the Angelus Central European Literary Award in 2013. She is the mentor of the “Translatorium” programme (edition 2022/23), Kraków UNESCO City of Literature. She conducted numerous translation workshops and classes on literary translation.
